Infoflows Leadership Team

Steve A. Stone, Chief Executive Officer
Steve A. Stone is President and CEO of InfoFlows Corporation, which he founded in 2004 after eight years at Microsoft Corporation. Steve believed that through the application of digital object recognition, the digital object architecture, search and advanced internet tracking technology, Infoflows would be able to mine valuable business information on the use of digital content. As a result, Infoflows was created as a software and services company that would provide digital content business intelligence services.
Prior to founding InfoFlows, Steve was a general manager with Microsoft, where he was one of the founders of the Electronic Book initiative that reported to Dick Brass, Microsoft’s vice president of eMerging Technology. The goal was to create a compelling alternative to the paper book and resulted in numerous products including the Microsoft Reader and ClearType, as well as the DRM technologies used in Microsoft Office and Windows Desktop and Server products. In 2002, Steve led the formation of the Microsoft Information Worker Solutions group, which focused on enterprise solutions for Microsoft’s largest customers. Before joining Microsoft, Steve was general manager for Spyglass Corporation’s Champaign, Ill., Business Group. While there, he led the effort in the creation of the Spyglass NCSA Mosaic products, the first production desktop web browser and embedded browser in the industry (and, the basis of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer).
Steve has 28 years of experience in the software and computer industry, having held senior software management and development engineering positions with Microsoft, Spyglass, Intergraph Corporation and NCR. Steve’s area of focus has remained consistent since college graduation. He has always believed that information is valuable and that networks, such as the Internet, enable us to find and use this information much more effectively than at any other time in history. Steve’s continued career focus is on providing technology and solutions that much more effectively enable non-technologists to better access this information.
Steve was raised in Germany until he was ten years old; after which, he moved to the United States, where he lived in Columbia, SC for many years. He graduated with a BS in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. He currently resides in Sammamish, WA with his wife Teresa and their four children. In his free time, Steve and his wife enjoy traveling and hiking together.
